I enjoy the challenges associated with creating professional, usable, and accessible web-sites along with powerful back-end systems to run them.
Hand-written Web Development using PHP5 (Propel, Smarty) and MySQL running on Apache2. Front-end development through Standards compliant XHTML, CSS2 and frameworked Javascript (Prototype.js / Scripty2).
Knowledge of Macromedia Flash MX. Experience with Macromedia Fireworks and Photoshop 6.
Working knowledge of Windows and Ubuntu Linux server administration. Grapples with Mac OSX.

I was in charge of a local intranet site as part of the Ministry of Defence's internal communications systems. I handled all aspects of page design, content and creation.

This role involved the strict XHTML1 standards-compliant redesign of all working sites, keeping the iKnow branded “look and feel” the same whilst delivering a stylesheet size decrease of 50% and template size decrease of 25%.
I also branched out into UI design creating the LiveEdit panel for use in a multitude of situations within the iknow-uk backend.

This role involved scheduling goods deliveries, ensuring the work completed was to a satisfactory standard, time-management, contractor management and assisting contractors with the renovation of houses.
